Were gonna need some concrete!

Just talked to our rep for the latest update.  They plan to finish the block Tomorrow or Thursday of this week, then they will start the underground plumbing.  Id imagine after the undergound pipes are done they will pour the basement.  Shawn is out of town until Friday, so hopefully I can make it up there with him on Friday / saturday and take some photos!  Im quickly becoming obsessed with this project.

  1. So, per Shawn I guess I was wrong...

I don’t think, I think they will frame the house before they pour the floor (the block walls are very unstable until they are tied into the first floor joists, I don’t think they would be able to pour concrete and take the risk of bowing the walls before they have the upper support)

  2. I know that others have had the framing start before the basement floor was poured, but that was with poured concrete walls...not block. After the underground plumbing goes in and the sewer rough-ins there will be at least 1 if not 2 inspections that have to happen before they can pour the basement. When progress seems to stall out it is usually because they are waiting for an inspection to take place or something failed an inspection and must be fixed before they can move on.
